King has always drawn in residents with its small-town feel, rolling hills, and stunning surroundings. Today, its small businesses, grand mansions, and walkable neighborhoods continue to attract new residents and visitors from near and far.  

 

There are a three main towns here, and Nobleton and King City are two very popular options. King  City offers a mix of homes, ranging from charming bungalows, century residences to spectacular mansions. The area also has incredible farms and country homes with picturesque roads, offering residents to enjoy a relaxed feel away from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to town to stock up on supplies. This area in particular is exclusive and in the Oak Ridges Moraine, which is protected from overdevelopment. This also assures residents that they can enjoy the sprawling farms, and custom country homes in a peaceful environment. 

 

Nobleton is the baby sister to King City — a bedroom community, it’s understated elegance offers manicured properties and lush surroundings. Residents take significant pride in their curb appeal. Nobleton also has a very active Neighborhood Watch in effect within this tight knit community.

 

Community recreation activities are popular in these areas, and there are plenty of ways for residents to get involved or meet new neighbors. There is an abundance of venues for residents to utilize in King, including parks, biking, and walking trails, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a basketball court, and more. Residents are encouraged to take full advantage of these facilities, and locals subsequently live active social lives.

King City offers  unique restaurants, coffee bars, and patio options to explore for when residents want to get out of the house! Locale King City is one modern spot for new homeowners in the area to check out. This restaurant and bar offers a sophisticated dining room, a fun, and scenic patio, and an intimate upstairs lounge and bar area. No matter what vibe you want, Locale can accommodate you and your crowd! The menu here boasts Italian-inspired fare. In Schomberg, Port Soiree Restaurant Cafe is another hotspot that is well-known among area locals. In Nobleton, retailers like Cousin's Fine Foods, Cappuccino Bakery, St. Phillips Bakery (watch the line-up of supercars on the weekends), or Vivo Pizza & Pasta, and a Tim Hortons. For more big-name brands, check out King City, Woodbridge  or Bolton, just minutes away by car.

Things to Do

King and the surrounding areas offer plenty of activities for residents to enjoy! 

 

Those who prefer spending time outdoors should be sure to explore the King City Trail. This 1.7-mile loop trail takes visitors through the surrounding scenery and exposes them to the beauty of the local ecosystem. This is a perfect spot for a slow, morning walk with your friends or partner. Or check out the  Dr. William Laceby Community Center And Arena or the $86 million dollar Zancor Centre. The zero-carbon facility includes an aquatics centre with a six-lane lap pool and leisure pool, two NHL-sized ice rinks, spectator seating, an artificial turf fieldhouse with running track, a multi-use community space and universal washroom and changerooms. Outdoor amenities include a large courtyard with direct access to social and community rooms, with future plans for the site including connections to the Oak Ridges Moraine trail system and outdoor sports fields. 

Schools

The areas around King offer incredibly well-respected school districts for parents and their children to explore. The private institutions within this area are especially strong and offer a challenging academic environment for students while also pushing them to grow socially. 

 

For young students, The Country Day School is a fantastic option with strong academics, athletics, and arts programs. Villanova College is similarly respected and caters to middle- and high-school-aged students in the area who wish to refine their skills and prepare for the next level of education and beyond. St. Andrew's College is located 15 minutes away in neighboring town, Aurora.
